For a late night of music Mijas Costa is ideal during the summer but if you are looking for a party town then we recommend Torremolinos, situated between Fuengirola and Malaga.

There are 250 restaurants for you to choose from here - evening meals can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace as the clubs don’t get busy until around midnight.

Fun Beach is one of the largest discos in Europe and is located in Avenida Palma de Mallorca. This club has a swimming pool and several dance floors with waiter and waitresses who wear swimsuits!

The Palladium is in Torremolinos and is looked upon as one of the most happening places also found on the main street Avenida Palma de Mallorca.

Fuengirola is close to Mijas and packed with all sorts of lively clubs and bars. It’s highly recommended that you join the locals on a bar cruise all night. You will see some of the best bars and clubs this way and try some great local food.

If you are looking for slightly more upmarket bars and clubs then the port of Benalmadena is a great place to visit. Fortuna Nightclub has one of the biggest casinos in Southern Spain.

However, for the ultimate party night out try Puerto Banus west of Marbella. This area is a celebrity hot spot and it is regarded as the playground of the rich and famous. Puerto Banus has many cocktail bars, clubs and discos but expect to pay high prices in many places (see our guide to Puerto Banus for more information).

Heaven’s Gate
Located in Fuengiro, Heaven’s gate offers a variety of music from R & B to Indie. The club was refurbished in 2006 and has now been equipped with six giant plasma screens.

This club provides the most recent UK house music and has an outdoor door terrace and bar.

Maxi’s Disco
Offering music from The Sixties to The Seventies located close to the beach.

Star Disco Bar Circular Underground Club
With a great atmosphere and music this club may be small but it offers a varied mix of music and will guarantee a fun evening out.

Aqualum Late Night Venus
This bar is unique as it is designed to resemble a fish bowl and is the only place to go when all the other bars are closed.

Disco-Terraza Monet
Located in Benalmadena this club is used as a meeting place during the daytime but completely transforms by night into one of the hot spots of the port.

Buzby’s Bar
This British run bar offers great entertainment from comedy to impressionists.
